loading skins

Postby astro » Sun Jan 31, 2010 10:57 am

Hi guys can some one help me i have loaded skins on previously but now cant get the latest ones on ive tried removing media players etc and loaded DD with the bare minimum of GM specific software and 1 pre-loaded skin the problem is my original user skins are always present can these be deleted from DD to put newer user skins on ?

the firmware and 1 preloaded skin take over 7MB and im assuming the user skins (audi,s2000 etc) are filling up the rest of the space ...16mb

any new user skins i try to load through the SD card come up with installation failed after between 1% and about 15%

can the DD 16MB be upgraded to bigger onboard memory?

please help....if only to return the DD to factory setting with NO user-skins that i have pre-loaded allready...i just cant get these off at all

I had a similar issue when I've got my DD a few months ago. I had to go to Setup -> Display -> Brightness and change it from Auto to 25-40%, otherwise the skin installation would fail, or at first DD even failed to format the SD card.
I think you can always go back to the default skin from Setup -> Display -> Theme. Or, if you really want to remove your skins, Setup -> Memory card -> Uninstall -> Theme.

If you post up a pic of your dash and explain what gauges and info you are looking for someone might be able to help put something together.
