DashDAQ

It is stated on the website that the DashDaq can be hooked up to the Innovate MTS Chain. How is this performed?

The instructions mention a DB-9, but Innovates website does not list any such serial cable.

I currently have a LC-1 Wideband O2 sensor hooked into an Aux Box (LMA-3). I would like to log those variables on my DashDaq along with the OBDII variables.

You need a driver file, a license file, and a DashDAQ expansion port cable. Our expansion port cable has a molded connector on the DashDAQ end, and loose wires on the other side. Maybe someday we'll stock a pre-made innovate cable? In the meantime the loose cable is cheap, and you can solder the serial-1 and serial-2 to a connector and plug it into your innovate scan chain. You should call the office on Monday and talk to Brian to get more information.

We'll be (mostly) closed between christmas and new years so you'll want to take care of this next week for sure!

Good call. It will be really nice to see all those parameters together. I don't have innovate in my own car, but I've seen that reading the scan chain works pretty well.

The Innovate MTS is mentioned in the forum and in the manual, but I don't see the driver anywhere. Another option is to configure the yellow wire as a wideband guage input, and feed one of the DashDAQ analogue input ports:

6. Optionally, the YELLOW (Analog out 1) and/or BROWN (Analog out 2) can be connected
to the analog inputs of other devices such as data loggers, ECUs, or gauges. If either one or
both of these wires are not being used isolate and tape the wire(s) out of the way. The default
analog outputs are as follows: Analog output one is 1.1V = 14 AFR and .1V = 15 AFR. This is
a simulated narrowband signal. Analog output two is setup as 0V = 7.35 AFR and 5V = 22.39
AFR. Note: The LC-1’s heater ground and system ground wires should share the same
grounding location of the analog input’s ground. Refer to chapter 2.2 for recommended
wiring schematics.

I already purchased your expansion port cable with my DashDaq. Where can I download the driver & license files?

Also I have no issues with soldering, but what wires on the innovate serial connector do serial-1 & serial-2 get connected to?

The premium drivers are not free and not posted for download -- they require a license file and we email the zipfile. Beta testers have a special arrangement. This is mentioned in the 1.0.4 software posting. You would have to contact Brian for details.

Joey, can you please elaborate a bit on these "premium drivers" ?

I have an LM-1 in my 04 GTO and would like to hook it up to the display.
The controller box is in the glovebox and is pretty useless in there so using the Dashdaq for everyday scanning is what I'm after.
I use HPTuners for tuning and scanning with my laptop, but it gets old lugging it around all the time.

Premium drivers are anything on the main DashDAQ website listed as Supported Add-Ons with the star that says "Some add-ons will require additional hardware and/or software modules". The license is free for beta testers to thank you for your assistance and patience. For non-beta-testers there is a small cost.

In order to do this, you'd need to call or send Brian Herron (bherron@drewtech.com) an email with your contact information and the serial number of your dashdaq. We will email you a zipfile with the driver, license file, a wiring diagram, and instructions. You will need a memory card reader for your PC to copy the license to the SD/MMC card.

The LM-1 works ok, but it takes several seconds to "boot up" before it starts sending a datastream. I actually prefer the LC-1 and MTS modules for permanent installation.

OK, I understand now. As far as the LM-1, I've had it long before the LC-1 was available.
